Across campus, you’ll find dozens of small black newsstands with The Daily Beacon emblazoned on top, hiding in corners of lobbies or under dark stairwells.
Although the papers stacked inside may not catch the eye of most passersby, for those of us here at The Daily Beacon, these headlines are our lifelines.
The knowledge that the stories, photos, graphics and everything in between can create change on our campus is what has brought together a team of the most talented, determined individuals I’ve ever met. I’m honored to help lead this incredible team in the spring as managing editor. The staff at The Daily Beacon truly exemplifies the Volunteer spirit as they work tirelessly to bring intense journalism to the University of Tennessee and beyond.
I cannot wait to see the phenomenal, impactful work that comes out of the newsroom next year and how the Daily Beacon can serve to light the way for others.
