With one of the highest restaurants per capita in the entire country, it’s easy to be overwhelmed in Knoxville when deciding what to eat for lunch. With so many cafes, delis, taquerias, and other delicious lunch options, it can be hard to make up your mind—do you try the new coffee and soup shop that opened up downtown, or do you stick with your favorite local deli? The Beacon brings you these four hole-in-the-wall spots for your lunchtime cravings!
1. Matt Robb’s Biscuits and Brews – 800 Market Street
A bit more of a brunch-focused option, this new edition to Market Street offers a modest menu of coffees, teas, and lunch options such as salads and sandwiches, but the real stars of the show are the buttermilk biscuits, with toppings such as eggs, bacon, and chipotle cream cheese to be chosen at the customer’s discretion. Their selection of teas and coffee, the eponymous “brew” part of Biscuits and Brews, can also help keep you going on long days.
