Due to ongoing Neyland Stadium construction, Phillip Fulmer Way will be partially closed beginning Friday, Dec. 1, until August 2024.
The road will be closed from the G10 garage entrance to Gate 21 of Neyland Stadium, blocking entrances to certain parking lots on campus.
Both entrances to the G10 garage are currently open. However, visitors for events at Food City Center are encouraged to use the Neyland Drive entrance to access the garage. The Phillip Fulmer Way entrance will be closed in February.
The entrance to the G5 lot from Phillip Fulmer Way will be closed, meaning the only way to access the top level of the surface parking deck will be from Lake Loudon Boulevard. The S9 lot can still be accessed from both Phillip Fulmer Way and Peyton Manning Pass for events on weekends and holidays.
The first games to be affected by the new traffic pattern are the first and second-round NCAA Tournament volleyball games hosted at the Food City Center on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Vols earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament and will welcome Western Kentucky, Coastal Carolina and High Point to Knoxville.
Tennessee basketball will be affected beginning with Sunday’s game between the No. 20 Lady Vols and No. 16 Ohio State. The Lady Vols enter Sunday’s game following a loss to Notre Dame on Wednesday.
The Vols return to Food City Center on Tuesday for a contest against George Mason. Although the No. 10 Vols are undefeated at home this season, they return home on a three-game losing streak following defeats by Purdue, Kansas and North Carolina.
The first concert at Food City Center to be affected is the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert held in the arena on Thursday. Fall 2023 commencement will also be hosted in Food City Center as thousands of students receive their degrees.
