Lauren Holladay is a senior majoring in journalism and electronic media, graduating in the fall of 2026. She joined The Daily Beacon in August of 2023 as a freshman copy editor, later accepting the role of Copy Chief, where she led a team of over 16 copy editors to uphold the high quality standards of the publication. She has since been selected as Managing Editor, where she leads the newsroom to continue its pursuit of accurate and impactful student journalism.

As a reporter, Lauren has covered a range of topics and is especially interested in accountability journalism, public records reporting and in-depth investigations. Her past experience includes internships with Citywire, the Knoxville News Sentinel and the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Outside of the newsroom, you will find her volunteering at Young Williams Animal Center, where she enjoys walking and caring for dogs (she misses her own dog, Leroy, dearly), or at Chipotle, which she frequents regularly (she was briefly ranked as the campus’ No. 4 Chipotle U member in the fall of 2025). Lauren looks forward to continuing to grow as a reporter and editor while helping the Beacon serve the UT community with integrity and clarity.
