Emily Hurst, Print Managing Editor
Emily is a senior studying English and history with a concentration in rhetoric and writing. She joined the copy section in the fall of her freshman year, inspired by her Gilmore Girls obsession, but she quickly fell in love with much more than the romanticized version of student journalism. She is passionate about quality writing, coffee, and the Oxford comma. When she isn’t working her three jobs or obsessively re-reading her drafted emails, you can find her connecting with nature, attending book club, or baking a sweet treat. Emily hopes to see everyone at the Beacon understand the importance of high-quality, well-researched writing and hopes that the Beacon’s transparent journalism can bring the UT community together.
