The University of Tennessee has confirmed that, after a full day of remote classes for students on Monday, regular class operations will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
Students received an email from Paul Byrnes, senior vice chancellor for finance and administration, at 4:39 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, announcing the resumption.
UT moved Monday classes online due to dangerous road conditions as a result of several inches of snow throughout Knox County, preventing safe transportation to and from campus for students and faculty.
Byrnes stated in his email that “Conditions may vary across the area,” and that “(UT officials) encourage the campus community to monitor local conditions and evaluate travel risks accordingly.”
The announcement regarding Tuesday classes differs from last week’s schedule, when classes were held virtually for both Monday and Tuesday consecutively.
In addition, multiple Knox County public schools have made the decision to remain closed on Tuesday, Feb. 3, staying consistent with last week’s cancellations.
