Before the rush of projects and studying for finals begins, students will have an opportunity to give to a good cause tonight while relaxing in an atmosphere of music and fun.
The Black Graduate and Professional Student Association is hosting the 2nd annual Pre-Final Jam and Food Drive.
This semester is almost over, and everyone deserves a break before finals, said BGPSA president Preshious Rearden. This event is the perfect way to unwind before studying for finals, but it is a party with a purpose.
Students are asked to bring canned foods to the Pre-Final Jam that will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank.
According to Rearden, the admission cost to the event will be $4, but students will receive $1 off the price for bringing along canned goods for the drive.
Students are encouraged to donate all the canned goods they can to the bank, and make good use of their leftover bonus bucks.
A DJ will provide music throughout the night, and refreshments will be served.
I think the Pre-Final Jam and Food Drive offers students a way to relieve some stress before they begin studying, Rearden said. The timing is perfect. The food drive is a way to give back to the community.
The jam will last from 8 p.m. until midnight in the University Center Ballroom.
