Tennessee softball returns to SEC play for a weekend series against Arkansas.
Karen Weekly and the No. 7 Lady Vols (26-4, 2-1 SEC) face the No. 14 Razorbacks (21-6, 1-5) at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium starting Saturday.
Tennessee enters the weekend on a five-game winning streak, most recently run-ruling Eastern Kentucky at the Midstate Classic. Arkansas was swept by Oklahoma last weekend but rebounded with a 6-3 win over Central Arkansas during the midweek.
Here’s how to watch this weekend’s series between Tennessee softball and Arkansas, plus some notes and storylines to follow.
How to watch Tennessee softball vs. Arkansas
All three games of Tennessee softball’s series against Arkansas will air on SEC Network. The series starts Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in between sessions of the SEC gymnastics championship.
Kevin Brown will be on play-by-play for the games Saturday and Sunday, and Mark Neely will handle play-by-play Monday. Amanda Scarborough will be on color for all three games.
Tennessee athletics is streaming a radio call of all three games on its app and website. Saturday’s game will air on 99.1 FM in Knoxville, and games later in the series do not yet have a radio designation.
A look at the Razorbacks
Arkansas has undergone a shaky start to SEC play this season. It was run-ruled by Ole Miss in the opening game of conference play and lost the series in the second game. The Razorbacks rebounded to finish the series with a 20-3 win in five innings.
Last weekend, Oklahoma swept the Razorbacks at Bogle Park. Arkansas has quickly found itself near the bottom of the SEC standings despite a strong non-conference performance.
Arkansas is led at the plate by Bri Ellis, who is hitting .547 while leading the nation with 16 home runs. Her 47 RBIs rank third in the country, one spot ahead of Taylor Pannell’s 45 runs plated.
As a team, the Hogs pitching staff has a 3.01 ERA, and opponents hit .203 against them. Robyn Herron leads the team with 55.2 innings pitched.
