Creed and Sevendust will hit Knoxville this weekend to give everyone a
mid-finals break.
Lead singer Scott Stapp has fully recovered from a small callus that had
developed on one of his vocal cords late last year, as Creed continues its
North American tour. Hitting the airwaves earlier this year with the
successful song “Higher,” the band has generated great popularity for
themselves, continuing their success with the single “What If” on the
Scream 3 soundtrack.
The group made history when four No. 1 singles came off their debut album,
My Own Prison. Their second release, Human Clay, has already
gone triple platinum after its release in September last year, and broke
the active and mainstream rock airplay records for the most consecutive
weeks at number one-an amazing 18 weeks. The group was also Billboard’s
1998 and 1999 Rock Artist of the Year. With over seven million album sales
to their credit this little Tallahassee-born rock group has come a long way
in the four years since their inception. This promises to be a power-packed
show with plenty of great rock music.
Sevendust will open for Creed in support of the 1999 release Home,
featuring their hit single, “Denial.” The band promises to give a good
showing throughout the tour.
On the Knoxville stretch of the tour, Guano Apes will be the opening act of
the concert.
The little Florida-based band that rose to fame in the late ’90s, Creed
will perform at Thompson-Boling Arena Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Reserved seat
and General Admission floor tickets are available at all Tickets Unlimited
outlets, by phone at 865-656-4444 or online at tickets.com. Tickets are
$24.50 and $27.50 each.
