AUBURN
Scratchin’ and Clawin’
The Tigers find themselves in the middle of the pack in the SEC West Division with a 13-9 overall record, 3-6 in the SEC.
However, in eight of Auburn’s nine losses, the game went down to the last play of regulation. Seven of them were decided on the last possession.
In AU’s nine conference games, they have lost three in overtime and five more by a combined 13 points.
The Tigers travel to LSU on Saturday for a 7 p.m. tip-off. Auburn has lost four of the last six games in the series and 11 of the last 12 in Baton Rouge.
KENTUCKY
Where are the Cats?
As of yesterday, the Wildcats were sitting pretty atop the SEC East with a 6-2 record, 13-7 overall. Kentucky played at Florida last night and results were not available at press time.
Prior to last night’s game, UK had won 10 of its last 12. They have the best record in the conference and have played more ranked opponents than any other conference school.
And they’re not ranked in either poll!
The Cats are 2-1 against top-10 teams this year. One of those victories was a 93-76 win at North Carolina on Dec. 2. UNC is this week’s new No. 1 team.
Kentucky is also getting a great effort from its dynamic duo of Tayshaun Prince and Keith Bogans. Last week, the two combined for 99 points and 30 boards in UK’s two wins.
ARKANSAS
Home
Sweet Home!
The Razorbacks have been on fire in the past three home games at Bud Walton Arena.
Arkansas shot a blazing 52 percent against Auburn on Jan. 17, 57 percent against Alabama on Jan. 20, and 52 percent against Mississippi State on Feb. 3.
Talk about tickling the twine!
The Hogs have to give much of the credit to sharpshooter Joe Johnson. Seven times this year the sophomore has scored in double figures, made at least one 3-ponter, had five or more boards, and recorded one or more assists, blocks and steals.
