When heading out for Black Friday shopping, it’s important to think about the independent and locally-owned businesses close to campus. On Saturday, Nov. 24, many of these businesses are offering additional deals for “Small Business Saturday.”
Whether you’re shopping for friends, family or yourself, these local businesses have you covered with unique items and discounts.
Apricot Lane Boutique
Apricot Lane Boutique is a locally owned clothing and accessory store located on Kingston Pike. The boutique is offering specialized deals every day of the week leading up to Black Friday.
On Black Friday, there will be a mimosa bar, free gift with purchase, deals and a box prize draw. The store offers game day gear, fall fashion, purses, headbands and jewelry.
Rala
Rala offers unique art, trinkets and gifts in the Old City. The art store features art from local artists including prints of Knoxville, Neyland Stadium, the Old City and more.
Also, through November, Fado Made Co is hosting a show at Rala featuring hand-crafted leather goods. The store will be open on Black Friday and will have additional deals on Small Business Saturday.
Bear Den Books
Bear Den Books is a bookstore located on Kenesaw Avenue, and it will be offering 10% off all items. The store offers a wide selection of bestsellers as well as books written by local authors.
Even if reading is not your thing, the store also offers mugs, puzzles, candles and other gifts perfect for rainy or snowy winter days.
Knoxville Soap, Candle & Gifts
This gift shop in downtown Knoxville has a variety of gifts such as their candles with a range of scents from fall classics to festive favorites. The store is decked out with holiday decor, candles and earrings, and they recently restocked their limited edition Bayberry candles.
On Small Business Saturday, they are offering 20% off all items in the store.
Bliss & Tori Mason Shoes Boutique
Bliss and Tori Mason Shoes Boutique located in downtown Knoxville is offering deals such as 20% off all clothing with a few exceptions Wednesday through Saturday.

Tree & Vine
Tree & Vine in downtown Knoxville specializes in olive oils and aged balsamic and will be open on Black Friday. The store also offers samples of their oils and sauces which makes a great snack while you shop.

The Southern Market
