It was like the trip to College Station all over again, just with a different ending. 

Tennessee basketball picked up an 92-63 win over Arkansas on Wednesday night in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks (12-12, 3-8), just like Texas A&M, were able to get hot from beyond the arc. Tennessee’s (18-6, 8-3) offense survived the onslaught this time with a dominant second half. 

Dalton Knecht dropped 22 points in the win. He also finished with three blocks and two steals, chipping in an all-around solid night. Jonas Aidoo registered a double-double on the night, ending with 23 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Vols pounded the paint. They scored a season-high 48 points in the paint while also adding a season-high nine dunks. 

Tennessee went into an arena it hadn’t won in since 2009 and picked up its second-largest road win over a D1 foe in the last 49 seasons.

The Razorbacks were able to jump out to a quick 13-9 advantage on Wednesday thanks to their 3-point shooting. Arkansas shot just 28.1% from beyond the arc going into the contest but started 3-of-3 from range. 

Jordan Gainey came off the bench and provided a spark for the Vols. He hit a floater and a mid-range jumper. 

Gainey ended the night 17 points on 6-of-8 from the field. 

Tennessee held a 22-20 lead at the under-12 timeout. The Vols ripped off an 8-0 run to take a 30-22 lead at 7:16 mark. 

When all else failed, the 3-pointer fell for the Razorbacks. They ended the first half shooting 6-of-13 from beyond the arc to enter halftime down by just six points. 

Tennessee came out of the locker room firing, going on an 8-0 run out of halftime. Then Gainey provided another spark. 

The junior checked in and hit two 3-pointers, forcing an Arkansas timeout and extending Tennessee’s lead to 64-47 with 14:13 left in the game. 

The run got up to 15-2 for the Vols by the 12-minute mark. Tennessee extended its lead with the blow-out half, leading by as much as 30 at some points. 

Tennessee outscored Arkansas 46-23 in the second half.
