Several protesters in support of Palestine were apprehended at the University of Tennessee College of Law lawn on Thursday night.
Students and community members have been demonstrating at the College of Law since Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 9 p.m., administrators asked students to vacate the area. Some students crossed the street while others stayed. Those who stayed were apprehended by police.
Apprehended students will be processed at UTPD and could face possible citation, arrest or suspension from the university.
The university told the Beacon that the group violated the Outdoor Facility Usage for Authorized Events policy.
Shortly after, students marched from the area around the Student Union to the UTPD building. They are now continuing to march through campus.
