Lady Vols basketball starts its SEC Tournament hopes in the first game of the event when it faces Texas A&M.
The No. 9 seed Lady Vols (21-8, 8-8 SEC) are looking to bounce back from two bad losses as they take on No. 16 seed Texas A&M.
In the first conference game of the season, the Lady Vols beat the Aggies, 91-78, in College Station. Jewel Spear led Tennessee with 20 points. Texas A&M’s Aicha Coulibaly, who is out for the season, played in that game for the Aggies.
Here’s how to watch Wednesday’s SEC Tournament opener, plus some notes and storylines to follow.
How to watch Lady Vols basketball vs. Texas A&M in SEC Tournament
Lady Vols basketball will take on Texas A&M at 11 a.m. Wednesday on SEC Network. Sam Gore and former Florida player Steffi Sorensen are on the call.
If Tennessee wins, Thursday’s game against Vanderbilt will tip off at the same time and also air on the same network. All SEC Tournament games during the first two days air on SEC Network.
As always, the game can be heard on the Lady Vol Network, including on AM 990 in Knoxville.
How Lady Vols basketball plans to respond to losses
After two losses, the Lady Vols are in need of a bounceback. Tennessee is no longer a guarantee to host NCAA Tournament games after last week’s games.
Now, Tennessee finds itself in a need for a win. Kim Caldwell only had one day of practice to try to get the Lady Vols ready for the challenge.
“We’re going to have to come up with something, because we have one day of prep,” Caldwell said. “We have one day of practice before you hit the road and have to try to play ourselves out of this.”
Tennessee hasn’t played on back-to-back days since defeating Richmond and Tulsa in December. To host, it needs to win at least two games before playing a rested South Carolina team after back-to-back wins.
