“Replicas” is Keanu Reeves’ return to science fiction, intends to make viewers question how far they would go to bring back the ones they love. After a car accident kills his entire family, a scientist who specializes in synthetic biology tries to bring his family back to life. This causes him to come into conflict with the government, law enforcement and the laws of science. The film also stars Alice Eve, Thomas Middleditch and John Ortiz. Those looking for a thrilling time at the movies will want to check out “Replicas” this weekend.
The Upside
Based on the 2011 French film “The Intouchables,” “The Upside” tells the story of the unlikely bond of a recently paroled criminal and a paralyzed billionaire. After getting paroled, Dell Scott finds a job as the caretaker for billionaire Phillip Lacasse. While the two clash at first, they soon begin to form a close friendship, vastly improving both of their lives. The film initially premiered in 2017 at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was set to premiere in March 2018 and be distributed by The Weinstein Company, but it was shelved due to the sexual abuse allegations against Harvey Weinstein. The film eventually was bought by another company and was set to release this year. “The Upside” stars Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston and Nicole Kidman. Comedy fans looking for something new to watch will want to check this out in theaters this weekend.
A Dog’s Way Home
The newest feel-good animal movie, “A Dog’s Way Home,” makes its way to theaters this weekend. Bella is the dog of Lucas, a bright young man who is an aspiring medical student. She lives a normal, happy life with him until she is accidentally separated from him, ending up 400 miles away from home. Determined to see Lucas again, Bella begins a long journey home full of danger and surprises. “A Dog’s Way Home” is the follow-up to 2017’s “A Dog’s Purpose,” with both being written by author W. Bruce Cameron. The film stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Ashley Judd, Alexandra Shipp and Edward James Olmos. This is a must-see film for dog lovers and those looking to have a heartwarming time at the theater.

Telling the true story of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, “On the Basis of Sex” shows RBG’s journey to end gender discrimination in United States Courts. The film stars Felicity Jones as RBG and Armie Hammer as her husband, Marty Ginsburg.
