Isn’t It Romantic
This rom-com featuring “Pitch Perfect” stars Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine is hitting theaters just in time for V-Day. The protagonist Natalie, portrayed by Wilson, is a proclaimed cynic and critic of romantic comedies. However, after she sustains a head injury during a robbery, Natalie wakes to find that she is now the main character in none other than a rom-com itself. Now living in her worst nightmare, Natalie must find a way to adjust to her new surroundings.
If you think this film would make the perfect date for your Valentine’s Day, you can catch a showing all afternoon at Regal Riviera or another Knoxville theater.
Happy Death Day 2 U
The sequel to 2017’s horror flick “Happy Death Day” premiered in Knoxville theaters this past Wednesday. In this Groundhog Day-esque film, college student Tree returns and so does her masked killer, but this time the murderer is targeting everyone.
Once more, Tree finds herself dying over and over again, all while attempting to save everyone she knows and loves from the hands of the baby-faced killer. The movie currently has great ratings, with 4 out of 5 stars on Fandango.
“Happy Death Day 2 U” is showing all afternoon on Valentine’s Day at Regal Riviera downtown.
Escape Room
This thriller tells the story of a group of men and women who begin a seemingly harmless game in pursuit of a large cash prize. In an escape room, the group works together to solve puzzles in an attempt to win. However, they soon realize that they are actually engaged in a competition to the death and are in extreme danger.
“Escape Room” is at Regal Knoxville Center Stadium 10 all afternoon this Valentine’s Day.
Audition
Looking for a combination of horror and romance this V-Day? The 1999 Japanese film “Audition” tells the story of Aoyoama, a widower, as he ventures into the world of dating for the first time since his wife’s death. After creating a dating service, he begins a relationship with a young, intriguing woman named Asami. However, Aoyoama’s world turns sinister as he realizes his new girlfriend may not be as innocent as she appears.
“Audition” is showing at the Central Cinema theater this Thursday at 9:40 p.m.
True Romance
Another romantic thriller, this 1993 flick starring Christian Slater is also playing at Central Cinema this Valentine’s Day. When male protagonist Clarence falls in love with a prostitute named Alabama, he must murder her pimp in order to steal her away. As he flees the murder scene, Clarence grabs a suitcase of cocaine, mistaking it for Alabama’s belongings. The couple hits the road with the drugs, but the mob is after them in hot pursuit.
“True Romance” is showing at Central Cinema on Valentine’s Day at 7:00 p.m.
