The wacky comic Carrot Top is coming to the Tennessee Theatre tonight.
Scott Thompson, better known as Carrot Top, got his start at an open mic night while he was attending Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, and he has been performing for audiences ever since.
The native Floridian is most easily recognized by his curly, red hair that is often utilized in impressions and his zany antics.
Along with his crazy persona, Carrot Top incorporates interesting and comedic inventions made from pieces of everyday items into his routine. His exotic creations have included such things as bulimic dinnerware (a plate that has been attached to a toilet), a fire hydrant targeted at disabled dogs (the hydrant comes complete with safety handles to help the poor pooch) and the Mike Tyson chew toy (boxing gloves with a couple of ears attached to them).
Over the years Carrot Top has been recognized for his unique humor routine with awards ranging from Entertainer of the Year, Best Male Standup Comic and America’s Most Popular Nightclub Comic.
He has appeared numerous times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and starred in his own film, Chairman of the Board, in which he played a surfer turned C.E.O. Carrot Top has also appeared on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.
Carrot Top will be performing tonight at the Tennessee Theatre at 7:30. This is a rescheduled show but all tickets with the Nov. 13th date printed on them will be honored. Tickets are $25 and are available at all Tickets Unlimited Outlets or can be charged by phone at 656-4444/toll-free 877-995-9961.
