To put it simply, the Dukes are back.
In the new Sony PlayStation title, The Dukes of Hazzard Racing for
Home, the player assumes the roles of Bo and Luke Duke as they rampage
across Hazzard County. This 3-D, mission-based game gives players the
opportunity to live through an episode of the show – it even features the
original opening from the show redone in PlayStation-style graphics.
The game features voiceovers from the original cast members, music from The
Tractors and a variety of cars from the show.
Common to every quality racing-simulation game, Hazzard has a
split-screen two-player competition mode that allows for head-to-head
racing.
The game’s story lies in the classic style of the show, with plenty of Boss
Hog, Sheriff Coltrane and Daisy. The graphics are outstanding and
demonstrate the great capability of the almighty PlayStation. Hours upon
hours of replay value can be found in the competition mode when playing
against a friend.
The only thing that could use a little tweaking is the play control. At
times the General Lee can be near impossible to drive. But in reality,
doing 95 mph down a winding dirt road would make maneuvering a little
difficult.
If anyone was ever a fan of the Hazzard boys, then this is one game that is
definitely worth checking out. There really is no feeling comparable to
that of tearing across the countryside in the General Lee.Hazzard is
available on both PlayStation and PC.
