The Red Hot Chili Peppers will spice up Knoxville tonight when they play
Thompson-Boling Arena with special guests Foo Fighters.
The Chili Peppers need no introduction. With multiple platinum albums
behind them, the band is now touring in support of their latest masterpiece
Californication. Although the title may be questionable, the music
speaks for itself. Songs like “Around the World” and “Scar Tissue” have
topped national charts – and it’s obvious that the Chili Peppers are going
to be around for a while.
The Foo Fighters will be special guests at the concert. Their latest
album, There is Nothing Left to Lose, is quite possibly the group’s
best work to date. With songs like “Learn to Fly,” “Generator” and “MIA,”
this album has rekindled the popularity of the group since they vanished
from the music scene in 1997. Other past hits from the band include “Big
Me,” “My Hero” and “Everlong.”
The show will begin with the opening band, Muse – a new group on the rise
from the U.K. The band will be promoting their premiere
album,Showbiz. Influential British music magazines New Musical
Express and Melody Maker have praised the group as one of the best
new artists of 1999.
The show will begin at 7 p.m. and is presented by MTV and 94.3 Extreme
Radio. Tickets are available at all Tickets Unlimited outlets or by calling
656-4444.
