ON THE POETRY SCENE:
A new open mic poetry reading premiers tonight at the 11th Street
Expresso House. Tentatively titled the Strap-On Poetry Night,
this evening’s reading features several local poets and writers, incuding
John Grayson, Leslie LaChance, Nathan Smith, Rob
Spirko, Randall Brown, Debbie Geis, Keith Norris
and others.
The reading begins at 7:30 tonight on the patio of the Expresso
House.
The Entelechy literary magazine sponsors a poetry reading Thursday,
April 13, at the Laurel Theatre. Featured readers include Marilyn
Kallet, director of the UT Creative Writing Program, Jennifer
Vasil, and Daniel Roop. Others will read, as well.
Please note that this reading takes place at the Laurel Theatre instead of
the Printer’s Mark Bookshop (as previously reported).
ROCKS AND ROLLING MUSIC:
Veteran punk rock band Youth Brigade will perform tonight at the
Mercury Theatre at 6 p.m. The show will also feature
Bloodlet, SmokeBomb, and Atom Bomb Pocket Knife. All
ages wills be admitted. Admission is $6.
Crimson Moon will perform tonight at Manhattan’s at 9
p.m. Admission is $3.
