The University of Tennessee offers a wide selection of different organizations and clubs for students to join. UT takes pride in the Greek life with sororities and fraternities. However, joining a sorority or fraternity is not everyone’s preference.
Fortunately, there are other organizations that can provide the same sense of belonging and social interaction. Listed below are some of the non-Greek organizations that provide a great way to establish a connection with people who have similar interests.
Kappa Alpha Pi
The Kappa Alpha Pi fraternity at UT specializes with an interest of academics in law and government. Concerning their members, the goal is to flourish in their education, which will potentially lead to a successful career.
This organization typically accepts new members at the start of each spring and fall semester. The brothers meet on Thursdays. Financial aid sessions and the LSAT are some of the popular events the fraternity supports.
Alpha Kappa Psi
Founded in 1904, although this fraternity is not strictly confined to business majors, the content centers around becoming a better business leader. This co-ed organization has spread to over 200 different universities, growing to be the biggest international business fraternity. With experience and leadership options from Alpha Kappa Psi, members have an excellent opportunity to obtain job positions with financially successful firms.
Tri Alpha
This chapter’s primary objective is to prioritize the academics of their members. There are plenty of leadership roles for students to showcase their skills. Participating in this chapter demonstrates loyalty and determination which are qualities potential employers look for.
Sigma Tau Delta
The Alpha Epsilon Chi Chapter of the Sigma Tau Delta Honors Society is an organization that recognizes diligent scholarly work in the field of English. Involved members can flourish in their literature and writing abilities. Some of their events include mixers, career boards and unique cultural events. In order to become affiliated with this chapter, students must have an English major or minor with an overall GPA of 3.
Delta Sigma Pi
DSP is another business fraternity at UT that is coed. Getting involved prepares members for the professional world through practicing interviews and building business relationships.
Alpha Epsilon Delta
AED provides hands-on training for those who aspire to engage in careers like medicine, dental and pharmacy. Alpha Epsilon Delta is unique because it provides members with the opportunity to visit qualified professors at certain schools to match your interests. Some insights to this club involve working in suture clinics, listening to lectures and educating about Stop the Bleed.
Alpha Omega Epsilon
This establishment is strictly for women who are studying and practicing STEM. The groundwork you learn in this program is vital to your success as you practice establishing contacts and participating in professional events. A few of these events involve presentations and corporate panels.
Finding a community such as these on campus can help you create a sense of belonging by fostering long lasting friendships. These clubs can also enhance your academics and take your curiosities to a new level.
