Tennessee basketball is back in the building it has success.

After a trip down to Gainesville, Florida, fell apart, the Vols return to the court looking to avoid a two-game skid. Tennessee kept it competitive with the defending national champs, but a 15-2 run before half derailed the game. Florida went on to shoot 61% from the field over the final 27 minutes of the game as Tennessee lost 91-67.

Turnovers remain the name of the game for the Vols (11-5, 1-2 SEC). Tennessee committed 18 in the loss to Florida, falling one shy of a season-high. It’s consistent regression for a team that has not been able to find a consistent footing — and the challenge ahead will be a unique one for a high-turnover team. Bucky McMillan’s Aggies (13-3, 3-0) enter Food City Center with “Bucky Ball,” a fast-paced system that prides itself defensively on the full-court press.

Texas A&M forces 16.2 turnovers per game, while the Vols turn the ball over 12.9 times a contest. McMillan’s squad is third among Power Four teams in turnovers forced per game while leading the conference. They posted eight turnovers the last time out against Texas, which was a season low.

The Aggies are led by five double-digit scorers. Rubén Dominguez leads the group with 13.7 points per game while shooting 47% from deep. Ja’Kobi Gillespie leads the attack for the Vols with 18.2 points per game, shooting 36% from deep. He struggles with turnovers, though, posting 2.5 per game.

Tennessee is 8-3 against the Aggies in the last 11 matchups, and 10-7 since they joined the SEC. Tennessee leads the all-time series 13-8.
