Daily Beacon Editorial – Beats include arts and culture, news, photography, sports, student life, etc. Pitches welcomed!

 

Beat Editors                                      Plan, coordinate and assign articles, assist writers, enforce deadlines in support of the assigned beat

 

Editorial writer                                Work closely with editorial staff to create a political or social message relating to current events or personalities

 

Cartoonist                                          Create sequenced panel images with a clear narrative

 

Columnists                                        Write intelligent, well-organized and thought-provoking columns

 

Copy Editors                                     Read and edit stories and cutlines in preparation for publication

 

Design Editors                                  Design and create editorial content for The Daily Beacon including news articles, photography, and other graphic images

 

Editorial Production                        Create and prepare graphical presentation of editorial content

 

Web/social media editors               Publish, create and manage content for www.utdailybeacon.com

 

Photographers                                   Capture and edit photographic images of newsworthy events

 

Video/multimedia contributor      Capture and edit video of newsworthy events; create web-specific content
