Seniors were able to get supplies, pay fees and look into life after graduation at this year’s Senior Salute sponsored by the SGA Undergraduate Academics Council.
Senior Salute was held in the University Center on Tuesday and Wednesday. The fair was divided into two areas – Jostens and everyone else. Due to volume, Jostens was given one whole side, and seniors still had trouble finding room to squeeze into to get their materials.
“It is very small and crowded,” said Carnie Davis, a senior in marketing. “There is no where to sit.”
In this small space devoted to Jostens’ supplies, seniors bought announcements, caps, gowns and class rings.
“It’s convenient to have it all in one place,” said Bridget McPheran, a MBA graduate student. “I came and got my announcements and cap and gown.”
Seniors found the fair as a reality check, preparing them for this year.
“It helped in getting me focused on graduating,” Whitney Wilson, a senior in chemical engineering, said. “I’m glad I came, because it prepared me for graduation.”
For many seniors, the fair was a stress reliever; it provided them with much needed information.
“The people here are so helpful,” Nova Sharkar, a senior in psychology, said. “You just have to go up to them, and they’ll tell you everything you need to know about getting graduation supplies.”
After getting their supplies, seniors took time to mellow out by looking into senior trip options.
“I wanted to get my supplies taken care of first, but I definitely want to check out travel options,” Sharkar said.
