have to leave since they had not received permission from the university to set up a table. They were told if they did not cooperate, they would receive a citation.
However, we’re hoping that the university continues to investigate and promote a dialogue on the issues involving Starbucks and the university community.
The best advice we can give the students upset with Starbucks is to play their game. Get the table, follow the rules, but never give up. Standing behind your convictions is an important lesson many college students must learn. In fact, it is a lesson ever
y college student should learn.
If change is really the answer, don’t let small roadblocks stop your cause. Learn from this setback, but don’t give up. When we received word that students were being told not to bring outside food or drink into the Starbucks lounge we were upset. The fac
t that the university has yet to appease our worries dealing with issues raises even more concern.
Students promoting change is always an asset on campus. The problems and setbacks they face only add weigh to their efforts.
