If you have ever considered going Greek, the women of Panhellenic invite
you to check them out tonight.
Rush to learn about Rush at the Panhellenic Open House tonight from 6:30-8.
Any females interested in joining a sorority this semester or next fall and
even females who are still debating whether or not to join a sorority are
encouraged to attend the Open House and learn about sorority life.
Every sorority will have a table displaying their letters, flowers and
other items at the Panhellenic Building. Individuals attending will have
the chance to learn about different sororities, talk with members from each
sorority or speak with Panhellenic representatives.
“There are numerous benefits from joining a sorority. These include service
opportunities, scholarships, leadership and of course, lifetime friends,”
said Kendra Swank, vice president of Rush. “Seventy-five percent of
leadership positions on campus are held by Greeks, which says a lot.”
Swank added leadership possibilities are also available within Panhellenic,
the governing body of University of Tennessee chapters. Members of any
sorority are invited to take on important roles in this organization.
Furthermore, she emphasized that any female considering going through Rush
this spring or next fall, or are not sure what they want to do, should
attend the Open House.
The Open House will offer a good opportunity to ask questions, meet other
people, or just tour the historic Panhellenic Building. Sorority seekers
can explore the characteristics of each sorority to help give them an idea
of the one that is right for them.
Interested females can attend the Open House at a time that is convenient
for them between 6:30 and 8, and they do not have to stay the whole time.
If other plans interfere with the given time slot and you can’t make the
event, there will be another Sorority Day at the University Center Plaza
sometime in April. Any questions should be directed to the Panhellenic
Building at 974-6604.
