Racing through the water and flying through the air, the Tennessee men and
women’s swimming and diving teams look to continue their undefeated season
when they take to the Big Orange pool this afternoon.
The tri-meet, which is scheduled for 1 p.m in the Aquatic Center, will
involve swimmers and divers from Arkansas, Miami and Texas A&M.
The 1-0 Lady Vols will be competing against both the 1-2 Miami Hurricanes
and the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are currently 0-2. The women’s one-meter
diving will start at 1 p.m with swimming following at 2 p.m.
The men, who have an all-time record of 195-6 at home and are 1-0 for the
current SEC season, will also challenge Miami and Texas A&M. Their swimming
and diving events, beginning at 2 p.m, will alternate with the Lady Vols
throughout the day.
Today’s meet is the last time to catch the amphibious athletes in action,
for they don’t compete in Knoxville again until a Feb. 7 meet against
Florida.
So if you’re in the neighborhood today, stop by the Aquatic Center and
experience the energy and enthusiasm of these fine athletes as they strive
to victory. The multitude of aquatic talents promises to be impressive to
all who attend.
