The Daily Beacon, an editorially independent newspaper operating within the Department of Student Publications, has served the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus as the official newspaper since 1906. The students, faculty and staff rely upon The Daily Beacon for up-to-date news, sports and entertainment coverage, locally and nationally.
Publishing of a daily newspaper is one of the oldest student traditions at the University of Tennessee.

Papers are distributed to 100 locations throughout the UT campus and surrounding community.

WELCOME BACK
Our most popular and highly regarded issue, Welcome Back is packed with information for over 21,000 undergraduate and 8,000 graduate students and 9,000 faculty and staff that are returning to campus for the new school year. With a circulation of 10,000 distributed throughout campus and “the Strip,” you are sure to get excellent exposure to campus readers. More importantly, an issue is placed in each residence hall room. You are guaranteed that those students will receive an issue upon their arrival to UT!

FOOTBALL PREVIEW - SEPTEMBER 2, 2011
Fall in Knoxville means one thing: it’s football time in Tennessee! The Daily Beacon publishes its annual section highlighting the upcoming season and football team. The Football Preview is included in all regular issues of the Beacon on the Friday before the first home game of the season, PLUS additional copies are distributed around campus and downtown on Saturday before the game.

BASKETBALL PREVIEW
November is always an exciting time as UT kicks off the upcoming basketball season. The Basketball Preview features coverage of both the men’s and women’s team and is included in all regular issues of the Beacon on the Friday before the teams play their first home game, typically the third weekend in November.

For seven key matchups of the 2012 season, The Daily Beacon is offering advertising space on a special Gameday Preview page featuring articles and photos of the Tennessee Volunteers and their SEC opponent.

Every February, The Daily Beacon offers local retail advertisers the opportunity to show their appreciation to their customers by discounting their ads. ORIENTATION ISSUE
Each summer, the University of Tennessee welcomes its new freshman class, transfer students and their parents to campus to familiarize them about campus resources, services, academic life and campus involvement. The Orientation Issue is your first chance to reach these new students. One copy is given to each student and their parents at the beginning of each session during June and July.

Classified ads are published in print and online each day The Daily Beacon publishes its normal print schedule. When the print edition is not publishing during December and May, online-only classified ads are offered. We offer several different categories, including employment, for rent, for sale, and travel.
